Tom joined Jenner & Block LLP in March 2017 as a partner in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office and co-chair of the Aviation and Aerospace Practice Group. He is a member of the firm’s Diversity Committee. Previously, Tom was Vice President and Deputy General Counsel of United Airlines, Inc. in Chicago, IL, where he led United’s legal teams for litigation, regulatory, alliances, government affairs, international, antitrust, competition, labor, benefits, intellectual property, environmental, health and safety. He was also responsible for administration of United’s Legal Department and served on United’s Diversity & Inclusion Executive Council. From October 2015 until April 2016, Tom served as Acting General Counsel of United.

Tom is a Life Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and a member of the Governing Committee of the American Bar Association Forum on Air and Space Law. He is also a member of the Advisory Board of the International Aviation Law Institute at DePaul University in Chicago. In 2008, Tom was named Regulatory (Non-Financial Services) Individual of the Year at the Global Counsel Awards, which are sponsored by International Law Office in association with the Association of Corporate Counsel.

Tom received his A.B. degree from Columbia College of Columbia University in New York and his J.D. degree from Washington University in St. Louis, where he was elected to the Order of the Barristers. He also attended Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C.

Tom’s daughter, who played Alice during Summergglass Camp, introduced her father to Lookingglass and the magical blend of exploration, discovery and transformation that is uniquely evident on the Lookingglass stage.
