SCHOOL PROGRAMS
RESIDENCY PROGRAMS
Lookingglass’ Residency Programs bring the world of the theatre straight to the classroom. Our teaching artists focus on teaching the “Lookingglass method”, which emphasizes invention, transformation, and collaboration. We provide discipline-based instruction as well as arts integration programming.
Our curriculum is aligned with the Chicago Guide to Teaching & Learning in the Arts, as well as the Illinois Learning Standards for Fine Arts. Our programs can be offered during school or after school, and are individually customized with our partners’ goals and needs in mind. Currently we are at work in over 20 schools and community agencies in and around Chicago!

STUDENT MATINEES
Each season Lookingglass offers a limited number of student matinee performances. In addition to discounted tickets for school groups, we will provide teachers and administrators with a study guide to orient students to the show ahead of the performance. Day of, students will have the opportunity to participate in a Question-and-Answer session with the cast after the show. We also offer in-school workshops for students (either before or after the matinee field trip), lead by our teaching artists.
Due to scheduling we are unable to offer 10AM student matinees for fall 2019. If your schedule allows, we encourage you to consider arranging a group via our group sales team, available at kstover@lookingglasstheatre.org
