TONY HERNANDEZ

TONY HERNANDEZ

Artistic Associate

Since 2001

A rare life-long career in entertainment, Tony Hernandez (he/him) was born into a family of circus performers (not a euphemism) and made his debut onstage at ten months old. At age six, he was featured on Captain Kangaroo and at age 21, Tony ran away from the circus to join a home—that home was Chicago, IL to pursue acting, where he became an Artistic Associate of Lookingglass.

Tony has acted in several productions with Lookingglass and other well-known Chicago companies. Having a 38-year circus and theatre career under his belt, Tony is now focusing on film and television. He has written a feature length screenplay, has a TV pilot in the works, and a few other fun projects cooking.

Bio as of 2017

All the more reason that credit has to go to co-creator, co-director and co-star Tony Hernandez, who ensures the acrobatics comprise a worthy part of the main course…[he] manages to combine comedy with a high-wire act, which is pretty rare. It’s a great routine.
