ANNE FOGARTY

Teaching Artist

Since 1998

Anne has been a Teaching Artist with Lookingglass since 1998. She is also an actor who has appeared onstage at Lookingglass (Hard Times, Metamorphoses, Summertime, and The Idiot), as well as other theatres in Chicago (Victory Gardens, Goodman, Remy Bumppo, and Northlight), and regional theatres around the country.

As a Lookingglass Teaching Artist, Anne has worked in public schools around the city, in residencies that span anywhere from 8-26 weeks. She has worked with all grades, from pre-school through high school, and taught classes focusing on ensemble-building, improvisation, creative play, adapting source material for the stage, and devising original work. She has also taught for many years for Lookingglass’s studio classes and summer camps.

Outside of Lookingglass, Anne has taught at Columbia College, Northwestern University, the University of Iowa, and Kingsley Elementary in Evanston, where for several years she has run the after-school drama program.
