Dear Lookingglass Supporter,

We hope you are doing well and staying healthy and safe. We are writing with an update about Lookingglass Theatre Company’s annual gglassquerade gala, which was scheduled for Friday, April 3 at the Loews Chicago Hotel. Due to COVID-19 precautions put into effect by Governor Pritzker and Mayor Lightfoot, and because we value the well-being of our community above all else, we regret to inform you that this event has been cancelled.

While we are not able to gather in person as we would have liked, we hope you and your friends, family, and colleagues will continue to support our theatre at this critical moment in time.  

In lieu of our usual gala activities but in the spirit of supporting our artists, staff, and plans for the future, we ask that you give as generously as you can and that you share this opportunity to support the theatre with your friends and family who care about the arts in Chicago.

In these uncertain times, we thank our event sponsors, ticket buyers, and donors for their generosity. We are so grateful for your participation in our most important fundraiser of the year. We are also extremely appreciative of our vendors and corporate partners who have been incredibly understanding and generous during this period of transition.

Here at Lookingglass, we are refocusing our creative energy toward the future, when our artists can once again gather with you in the theater, with students in classrooms, and with neighborhood partners in community centers.In the meantime, we look forward to staying in touch with you now and sharing what we are now working on in the virtual space.
