GEORGE
March 6 - April 11, 1998
The Theatre Building
Adapted by John McCray
Directed by Shirley Anderson
From Le Mort Saisit Le Vif by Henri Troyat
Publishing a dead man’s manuscript as his own, a mediocre writer quickly becomes the toast of Parisian society. Basking in the fame and fortune of his sudden success, he soon forgets that he is not really the author of the book. When the adoring public demands more novels like the first, however, he is confronted with two unacceptable choices: admit the truth or fail. George explores themes of identity, achievement, fame and losing oneself in the pursuit of happiness.
Featuring Ensemble Members Eva Barr, Doug Hara, and Heidi Stillman, with Marilyn Dodds Frank, Christine Mary Dunford, Tom Kiehfuss, Troy West, and Gary Wingert.
