Lookingglass’ Residency Programs bring the world of the theatre straight to the classroom. Our teaching artists focus on teaching the “Lookingglass method”, which emphasizes invention, transformation, and collaboration. We provide discipline-based instruction as well as arts integration programming.
Our curriculum is aligned with the Chicago Guide to Teaching & Learning in the Arts, as well as the Illinois Learning Standards for Fine Arts. Our programs can be offered during school or after school, and are individually customized with our partners’ goals and needs in mind. Currently we are at work in over twenty schools and community agencies in and around Chicago!

As a leading professional theatre company located in Chicago, we are known for creating physically bold and visually lyrical theatre. Our work is built on our three core values of invention, transformation, and collaboration.
From the hospitality industry (our work with the Park Hyatt was recently featured in USA Today) to faculty at Northwestern Business College to the roofing and construction industry, Lookingglass offers a unique approach to fostering a collaborative internal work force — since we work as an Ensemble, we understand the particular challenges, rewards and unique benefits that come from working together as a team. Businesses must be able to communicate clearly with their customers to achieve client satisfaction and loyalty. We are experts at communication and can design a program that fits all the needs of your business.
We have several standard workshops available which may suit your company’s personnel needs. We can also work closely with you to design a custom program that meets your company’s specific needs. Our engaging corporate training methods have been successfully applied to a wide range of businesses and organizations. Most importantly, employees retain and continue to utilize skills they’ve gained in our workshops.
