He’s worked as a high school teacher, university teaching assistant, university adjunct, guest director and freelance teaching artist for Lookingglass, Lifeline Theatre, the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, The University of Texas at Austin, Point Park University, Seton Hill University, Bradley University and DePaul University.

He is an Artistic Associate with A Red Orchid Theatre, where he performed last spring in the world premiere of Sender by Ike Holter. He is also one of the founders of their youth programming. His youth work at A Red Orchid Theatre saw him staging the world premiere of Craig Wright’s adaptation of Homer’s The Iliad, the Chicago premiere of A Very Merry Unauthorized Children’s Scientology Pageant and most recently, the world premiere of The Haven Place by Levi Holloway. Steven was a longtime member of The Hypocrites, with whom he performed in over a dozen productions and served in a number of leadership roles, including Casting Director and as a member of the Artistic Council. His re-imagining of Green Day’s American Idiot launched The Hypocrites’ 19th Season in 2015.
