
Stephanie Alison Walker (she/her) is a published, produced, and award-winning playwright born and raised in the Chicago burbs with a few early years in London and 15 later years in L.A. Stephanie’s full-length plays include THE MADRES (Teatro Vista,) THE ABUELAS (Teatro Vista,) THE ART OF DISAPPEARING (16th Street Theatre,) FRIENDS WITH GUNS (The Road Theatre,) AMERICAN HOME (Little Candle Productions,) THE ORDEAL OF WATER, ADIRONDACK CHAIR CIRCLE, and SOPHIA HAYDEN DESERVES BETTER. Her work is known for the personalization of the political, humor in darkness, and character-driven storytelling that centers women. She is the winner of the prestigious Primus Prize awarded by the American Theater Critics Association for THE MADRES and the Inaugural Blue Ink Award from American Blues Theatre for AMERICAN HOME. She is currently in post-production on a short film titled THE BIRTHDAY GIFT, adapted from THE ABUELAS.
