Kate Sullivan Coombs

From 2019-2023, Kate served as Resident Director & General Manager of Chicago’s Drunk Shakespeare. Kate is the creator of The Album Project, under which she helmed Los Angeles stagings of Rumours, Jagged Little Pill, and Ed Sheeran’s +. Directing work: Dragons Love Tacos, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed (Northbrook Theatre), The Maid (NHSI), and Avenue Q (Redhouse Arts Center). Playwriting credits: Snow White (Orphan Girl Children’s Theatre), Family Reunion (CTC Ensemble), and Sex, Love, and Yoga (MACHA Theatre). Alongside screenwriter Dustin Lance Black, Kate co-wrote 8, the Play, which debuted on Broadway (dir. Joe Mantello) to benefit the American Foundation for Equal Rights.
