STEVE ARMSTRONG

Steve Armstrong (he/him) started his career at Allstate Insurance Company where he worked as an actuary overseeing actuarial and analytical talent for auto and homeowners insurance focusing on both the state-specific rate reviews and filings and the predictive modeling and countrywide rating plan development. Steve was responsible for introducing the product and rating algorithm for Drivewise, Allstate’s usage-based insurance endeavor before he left in 2012.

Between 2012 and 2017, Steve worked for two large global insurance companies (AIG and QBE) to help bring pricing sophistication and actuarial best practices to these companies and to other countries around the world

Steve returned to Allstate in 2017 to oversee actuarial work and lead actuarial pricing strategy for Allstate Personal Lines. He is currently Allstate’s Chief Actuary and oversees pricing sophistication and modeling efforts, countrywide actuarial services, and state pricing work for all personal and commercial lines products.

Steve received his Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Illinois – Urbana-Champaign in 1992 and his MBA from the University of Illinois – Chicago in 2003. Steve received his Fellowship of the Casualty Actuarial Society designation (FCAS) in 1996. Steve was honored to be elected and serve as President of the Casualty Actuarial Society in 2020 and is now serving on the Board Committee for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for the Casualty Actuarial Society.
