Our summer camp in Hyde Park offers campers a traditional four week arts camp experience. Students study acting, movement, music, and art as they write, rehearse, and perform an original show on the Lookingglass Main Stage. Past camp productions include Viva Mexico, Year of the Dragon, and Bontsha the Silent. Camp also features weekly barbecues, trips to the beach, and our annual talent show!

Summer Camp on the Lake (SCOL) meets Monday through Friday, from 9:30am-3:30pm in Hyde Park. The maximum enrollment for Summer Camp on the Lake is 65 students. Students are divided into four groups, according to grade level; group sizes differ each year, and are typically comprised of 16-17 students per group. If you know a fellow SCOL camper, and would like the students to be grouped together, you are welcome to submit a friend request, either by indicating your request during camp registration, or by calling our office at 773.477.9257 x193. While we always strive to group campers together, we cannot guarantee that every friend request will be honored, due to group size and entering grade level of other campers. SCOL is intended for students entering 3-8th grade, but we are happy to welcome returning campers who will be entering 9th grade to register for one last summer at SCOL camp! Please let the office know by email or phone that you are planning to register, so that we can make a special note.
Our Summer Camp on the Lake staff includes one director and assistant director, our three specialists (art, movement, and music), four group leaders (one per group), and four college interns. At any given time during the camp day, 2-3 adults are assigned to each group of campers. Over the course of the four week session, our SCOL campers – with the direction and support of our SCOL camp staff – will create and perform an original piece of theatre surrounding the summer’s theme!
