Lanise Antoine Shelley is an actor, dancer, director, and painter. As an actor, Lanise just recently returned from Stratford Shakespeare Festival as the Chicago Fellow where she played Witch Three in Macbeth, Sue in All My Sons, and Elissa in Aeneid. Her Regional credits include: Chicago Shakespeare Theater; Goodman Theatre; Lookingglass Theatre Company; Windy City Playhouse; American Repertory Theatre; Indiana Repertory Theater; Book-It Repertory Theater; Seattle Repertory Theatre; Backroom Shakespeare; Outside the Wire; and Shakespeare Santa Cruz. Her favorite productions during her five years as resident company member at Milwaukee Repertory Theater include Eurydice, The Night is a Child, The Glass Menagerie, Gem of the Ocean, King Lear, Intimate Apparel, Sueno, …Young Lady From Rwanda, Lady Windermere’s Fan, and The Crucible. Next up: Lanise will be performing in Goodman Theatre’s An Enemy of the People, assistant directing David Schwimmer in Lookingglass’ Plantation!, and performing 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. She is also a team leader for Stratera Professional Mentorship for Women in the Arts

As a teacher, Lanise is passionate about physical theatre stemming from Suzuki, View Points, Stanislavski, yoga, games, and a myriad of dance forms.
