Bill Vainisi is a Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel of Allstate Insurance Company.

Bill began his career with Allstate in December of 1985 and held various positions within the Law and Regulation Department. In January 1995, he served on the Catastrophe Exposure Team, charged with the responsibility of managing Allstate’s exposure to natural disasters throughout the United States. He returned to the Law and Regulation Department in December of 1995 and was appointed Assistant Vice President, Assistant Secretary & Assistant General Counsel in April of 1996. In this position, Bill was responsible for leading the Company’s regional counsel program. This staff of lawyers provides legal, legislative, and regulatory services to the entire Allstate field organization. In addition, Bill was responsible for the Company’s countrywide efforts in influencing public policy on behalf of Allstate’s customers, shareholders, and employees. In December of 2006, Bill was promoted to Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel. In this position, Bill continues his role leading the state legislative and regulatory operations in the Law Department. In addition, Bill is responsible for the Public Policy Analysis and Development group as well as the State Filings group.

Prior to joining Allstate, Bill held various government relations positions with the National Association of Independent Insurers. Bill also served as Chairman of the Board of the Florida Insurance Council, as well as Chairman of the Board of the Florida Insurance Council’s Political Action Committee. Bill graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and DePaul University Law School. Bill and his wife Janine are the parents of three sons and make their home in Inverness, Illinois.
