Headshot/Resume Submission
Lookingglass Theatre Company maintains an actor archive comprised of headshots and resumes from which we draw our performers. Due to the highly physical, musical and ensemble nature of the Lookingglass aesthetic, we encourage those who have a background in ensemble acting, movement and/or music skills to highlight that experience when submitting information.
Movement skills may include dance, combat, gymnastic abilities, and the circus arts. Actors who move well but do not have specific physical training should make that known as well. The ability to play an instrument or sing should also be highlighted.
Headshots and resumes are accepted year-round and are retained for two years. It is very important that we have current contact information. Please notify us any time you change your telephone number or union status.
IMPORTANT CHANGE/UPDATE: As of March 2011, Lookingglass will transfer its electronic head shots and resumes to the NOWCASTING web service. This is a FREE database for actor profiles.
We will also be accepting submissions via a Casting Notice on Now Casting year-round. Please keep your Now Casting profile current (even if you are well known to us already) as that will automatically update in our online Filing Cabinets.
It is very important that we have current contact information. We will no longer accept head shots and resumes emailed to us directly.
If you already have a profile on Now Casting, you can access our casting notice/database via this link here.
If you do not have a (free) Now Casting profile, go to www.nowcasting.com; click ACTORS and then 'Actor Free Registration.' Then complete your profile. Then, under 'casting notices' just submit to Lookingglass where you see our information.
If you have questions about using nowcasting.com, please direct them there, not to Lookingglass staff.

Script Submission Policy
Lookingglass is an ensemble-based company that primarily produces new work, both original plays and adaptations, created by our ensemble. Lookingglass seeks to tell stories that marry a captivating narrative with a strong visual component. This visual component has been manifest in a variety of ways but often includes bold physicality and or film/projections. Epic stories, dynamic adaptations of world literature and innovative reinterpretations of classic texts that can accommodate a large cast are of particular interest. We do not produce conventional kitchen sink dramas or work that would not fit well into an ensemble environment.
The vast majority of our productions are written by ensemble members or by established playwrights. Therefore, Lookingglass Theatre Company does not accept unsolicited scripts for consideration. You may submit a 2 - 10 page synopsis (preferred) or your complete play, if it reflects the above criteria, through a literary agent or accompanied by a letter of recommendation by a theater professional (i.e., an artistic director or literary manager of a professional theater).
Please include an explanation of how and why your script would fit well into the Lookingglass aesthetic. Should your materials interest us, we will contact you.
Please allow 6 - 8 months for a response. Scripts will not be returned.
Please address your submission to:
