Baseball Takes the Lead

In 1945, many people were asking questions about major league baseball’s color barrier. Most baseball executives responded defensively by pointing out that segregation permeated American society and asking “why should baseball be the one to take the lead?” Branch Rickey looked at the situation and had a different question. “Why shouldn’t baseball right this wrong?” wondered Rickey, and that different formulation of the question changed everything.

This holiday season, join Lookingglass Theatre at the Water Tower Water Works on Michigan Ave (821 N. Michigan Ave) for a preview of our winter programs! In addition to free creative drama classes, we are offering a rare behind-the-scenes look at our theatre spaces!

Cheshire Kids (3-5 years) 10am-10:45am & 1pm-1:45pm

Preschool students will use their bodies, voices, and imaginations to act out their favorite story books in this creative drama class.
