LISA TEJERO

LISA TEJERO

Artistic Associate

Since 2006

Lisa Tejero (she/her)

The first Lookingglass show that Lisa saw was West directed by David Catlin and she remembers thinking, “Yep, those are the kind of theatrical boundaries I want to push.”

A few years later, Mary Zimmerman cast her in the production of S/M. Subsequent shows with the company have been: Metamorphoses, 1984, The Curiosity Shop, Argonautika, Fedra: Queen of Haiti, and Ethan Frome. She was invited to join the company in 2006 and has been a proud Artistic Associate ever since.

She most recently appeared as Vivian Bearing in The Hypocrites production of Wit, and this summer will be playing Lady Bracknell in Iowa City, then coming back to be in Chicago Shakespearer Theater’s Shakespeare in the Parks production of Romeo & Juliet.

Locally, some of Lisa’s shows include: White Snake, Stop/Reset, Ghostwritten, Silk, The Odyssey, As You Like It (Goodman Theatre); Kafka on the Shore (Steppenwolf Theatre Company); Defiant Muse, Lemuel, View of the Dome (Victory Gardens Theater).

Regional Theatres she has worked with include: Guthrie Theater, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, McCarter Theatre, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Seattle Repertory Theatre, Milwaukee Repertory Theater, Kansas City Repertory Theatre, Arena Stage and Huntington Theatre Company.

Broadway and off-Broadway credits include a run of Metamorphoses.

She matriculated at Webster University’s Theatre Conservatory where she earned her BFA.
